Unapproachable Light.

Let the holiness of God’s unapproachable light penetrate your soul today.

He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion. (1 Timothy 6:15-16)

The sun’s power is so bright that it can blind those who look directly at it. NASA warns that observing the sun can be dangerous if you do not take the proper precautions. This danger is especially acute during solar eclipses, but the warning applies at all times.

Thinking about the sun can help us understand the nature of God, for He dwells in unapproachable light. This light is blinding in power, staggering in intensity, and overwhelming in purity. When we worship God and come into His presence, we need to remember this pure, holy light. We cannot help but humbly surrender our lives to Him and let His light penetrate our hearts and minds.

Relating to this intense purity, Paul charged Timothy to keep the command without fault or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. This allows an unhindered relationship with God to form the basis of our lives and conduct.

God is the Creator. We owe everything to Him, and He desires fellowship with us. Let’s seek to know Him more intimately and serve Him with our whole being.

Today, reflect on what God is like. Consider His holiness, His unapproachable light, and His purity. He has a plan for the universe and for each of us as individuals. He is sovereign over every nation, person, and power on earth.

Worship Him. Humble yourself before Him. Surrender your life to Him.

This is our God.

Prayer:

Father, we worship Your holiness and humble ourselves before You. Penetrate our lives with Your unapproachable light. We want to fellowship with You, and we want to honor You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
