Peace in His Presence.
Scripture: Exodus 14:14
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Reflection:
Exodus 14 captures a pivotal moment in the story of God’s people: the parting of the Red Sea. Surrounded by Pharaoh’s army and an impassable sea, the Israelites were consumed by fear. But in the midst of their panic, Moses delivers a powerful truth: *The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.*
This verse speaks to us in the moments when God calls us to cross unknown waters. It’s easy to fear where He is leading, especially when the path ahead seems impossible or overwhelming. But God’s guidance comes with His assurance—He will fight for us, provide for us, and make a way, even through the waters.
The Red Sea was not a barrier for God; it was an opportunity to display His power and faithfulness. When fear threatens to paralyze us, we are reminded to be still—not in passivity, but in trust. Being still means choosing faith over fear, allowing God to lead, and resting in the knowledge that He is in control.
The path may be uncertain, and the waters may seem deep, but God’s promise is unchanging. He will not lead you where His power and presence will not sustain you. Trust that He is making a way, even when you cannot see it yet.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being a God who fights for us. In moments of fear and uncertainty, remind us to be still and trust in Your power and presence. Give us the courage to follow where You lead, even when the waters seem deep and the journey feels overwhelming. Help us to rest in the assurance that You are making a way, and You will accomplish what You have planned for us. Strengthen our hearts to walk boldly in faith, knowing You are with us every step of the way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
