He Lights Our Path.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. -Psalm 119:105.

Followers of Jesus Christ have a tremendous advantage that allows us to navigate the peaks and valleys of this world. In His infinite wisdom, God created a manual for living that encompasses life from its beginning to its end. It tells us all the attributes of the God we serve, chronicles His walk on the earth, and prescribes our path to eternal salvation. His manual covers all aspects of life, leaving us without any want for knowledge.

Yet, in spite of God’s best efforts, many believers are confused and disheartened. This confusion comes from not reading the Scriptures for all they are worth. The Lord urges us to meditate on His Word. It is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. When we sit with the Word of God and focus on the Scriptures, we are indwelled with the Holy Spirit and power. When we digest His Word, it illuminates the path before us, allowing us to have both insight and foresight.

Oh, what a blessing for the believer who spends time in the Word. There is no problem too difficult, no circumstance too overwhelming, no situation beyond comprehension. Get into the Word. God has already provided the answers. It’s all in His book—the Bible. Study His Word today, and you will find peace like no other.

Prayer:

Lord, help us to seek You today, to sit and study and meditate on Your Word. Lord, it’s not about the time we put in, because that would be by works, and we do not do things by works. But Lord, give us the desire to sit with You, to have fellowship with You, and to build our relationship with one another.

Lord, we love You and we thank You. You are always gracious to us, always happy to sit with us. So, Lord, help us to make this a holy habit that honors You. Bless this day and keep us safe.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
