Living by God’s Word.

_”...man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”_ — Deuteronomy 8:3

_ “My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.”— ‪Proverbs 4:20-22 ‬

Reflection:

Imagine the Israelites wandering in the wilderness, a barren and threatening place. No food to sustain them apart from the manna from heaven, no water except from miraculous springs God provided. They learned a truth so profound yet so easy to forget: life is sustained not only by physical provision but by the very Word of God.

Deuteronomy 8:3 reminds us that true life comes from trusting God’s promises and obeying His guidance. Just as manna fell from the heavens to feed their bodies, the Word of God nourishes our souls daily, offering wisdom, strength, and purpose. This truth humbles us—without God, we are nothing.

Living by God’s Word, as emphasized in Proverbs 4:20-22, means creating space in your life to deeply absorb and apply His teachings. His Word acts as a source of life and healing, nurturing both your spirit and body. The passage encourages an intentional focus on scripture, allowing it to guide your thoughts, actions, and decisions. By keeping His wisdom at the center of your life, you stay anchored in truth and find strength in challenges, peace in uncertainty, and hope in all seasons.

Application:

Are you walking through a “wilderness” season in your life? Perhaps it feels dry, challenging, or even dangerous. Just as God was faithful to sustain the Israelites, He is faithful to you. His Word is your manna, your daily bread. Open the Bible today and let His promises strengthen you.

On the other hand, maybe you’re experiencing abundance right now. It’s a time to reflect, give thanks, and acknowledge God as the source of your blessings.
