How can we keep the joy of the Lord in the midst of difficult times?

Philippians 4:4-7 invites us to consider every situation in our lives so that nothing moves us from continuing to walk faithfully with the Lord. It exhorts us to rejoice at all times, even in the midst of problems and adversities.

The key to experiencing God’s peace and living full of joy in the midst of adversity is to surrender every worry and burden to the Lord with a grateful heart for what He has already done and will do in our lives. Verse 6 says: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Our gratitude towards God fixes our eyes on who God is: a faithful and wonderful God, and not on the difficulties. Therefore, today I want to invite you to come in prayer and surrender your problems and every burden and worry before God. He will keep your mind and heart with His peace that surpasses all understanding while you trust in His work in your life. He will change every situation for your good.

Romans 8:28 says: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, fill your life today and always.
